House prices in Spain

I just discovered a section of the online Spanish newspaper "20 Minutos" called "Viviendas y hogar" ("Households and homes").

This is a resume of the most commented articles (translated):

"House prices will increase at about 8% in 2007"

"Young Spaniards devote 64% of the salary to buy a flat"

"After the housing boom, Spain will go back to the mediocricy era"

"Spain is one of the countries with smallest probabilities of a decay in the house prices"

"Mortgages reached on October 2006 a new maximum since 2002"

"Increase in house prices less than 10% for first time the last 5 years"

Demonstration in Barcelona

This poster is a call for a demonstration the 23rd in the centre of the Catalan capital; it says "Congratulations, you won´t have a house in your bloody life". There is some concern among Spaniards about the increase on the house prices during the last years. The average increase on the house price in this country has been about 10% per year since 2000. This increase is particularly strong in the big popular cities like Barcelona, making it difficult for young people to leave their parents houses.
